The group assembles early morning at Cochin Airport for the flight to Amritsar. On arrival, the day begins in the old city at the Golden Temple, also called Harmandir Sahib, followed by Jallianwala Bagh nearby. In the evening, the drive reaches the India-Pakistan border at Wagah for the retreat ceremony, where soldiers from both sides parade and the two flags come down together.
Overnight in Amritsar. Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner.
After breakfast, the coach heads north to Katra, a drive of roughly eight hours through the Shivalik hills, with green slopes and winding mountain road for much of the way. Evening at leisure in the base town.
Overnight in Katra. Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner.
This is the darshan day. The group starts early with a packed breakfast for the Vaishno Devi temple, about 12 kilometres from Katra at an altitude of roughly 5,200 feet in the Trikuta mountains. The route can be walked, or covered by pony, palki or battery rickshaw. After darshan, the group returns to Katra for the night.
Overnight in Katra. Meals: packed breakfast and dinner. Lunch on this day is at your own cost.
After breakfast and some time at leisure, the drive continues to Jammu. On arrival, the sightseeing covers Raghunath Temple, the Amar Mahal Palace Museum, and Bahu Fort with Bagh-e-Bahu, visited as timings allow.
Overnight in Jammu. Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner.
After breakfast, check out and travel to Amritsar, about 215 kilometres and roughly four hours, then transfer to the airport for the return flight.
