Oman Air flights, a Schengen visa, 4-star hotels and all meals — eight countries, no doubling back.
About This Trip

This is the long southern route into Europe. You fly into Rome, work north through Pisa, Venice and Padua, cross into Slovenia for the caves, then take the Gotthard tunnel under the Alps into Switzerland. From there the road runs on through the Black Forest, the Rhineland, Amsterdam and Brussels, finishing with two nights in Paris. The route never doubles back, so no stretch of road is driven twice.

Rome and the Vatican, Pisa, Venice and Padua, Slovenia's caves, the Gotthard tunnel into Switzerland, the Black Forest and Rhineland, Amsterdam and Brussels, ending in Paris.

You assemble at Kochi International Airport, clear emigration and customs, and fly to Rome with Oman Air — the capital of Italy, where the ancient sits directly alongside modern life. You are taken to the hotel on arrival.
Overnight in Rome.
Vatican City, around 44 hectares with a population of about 1,000 — the smallest state in the world and the seat of the Pope. At St Peter's Square, the Basilica (Bramante, Michelangelo, Carlo Maderno and Bernini). Rome follows: a photo stop at the Colosseum, plus the Roman Forum, Castel Sant'Angelo, the Monument of Victor Emmanuel II, the Arch of Constantine and the Arch of Augustus. Later, transfer to Pisa.
Dinner and overnight in Pisa.
The Leaning Tower, the freestanding bell tower of Pisa cathedral. Drive to Mestre for lunch, then a private boat to Venice, founded in the fifth century across 118 islands: St Mark's Square, St Mark's Basilica, the Doge's Palace, the Campanile and the Bridge of Sighs. Continue to Padua.
Dinner and overnight in Padua.
Into Slovenia for Postojna Cave, carved out over millions of years, with a small train deep among stalactites and stalagmites, and nearby Predjama Castle, built into a cliff, the largest cave castle in the world. Return to Padua.
Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
The Basilica of Saint Anthony of Padua, where the saint is buried and his tongue displayed in a reliquary — patron saint of lost things. Drive to Como on Lake Como, ringed by the Alps. After lunch, cross into Switzerland through the Gotthard Road Tunnel, 16.9 km beneath the St Gotthard Pass.
Dinner and overnight in Zurich.
Up Mount Titlis, the highest peak in Central Switzerland, two cable cars including the revolving Rotair, the top at 3,020 metres, with lunch on the mountain. To Lucerne: the lake, the covered Chapel Bridge, the old town and the Lion Monument carved into the rock. Time for Swiss chocolate and souvenirs.
Dinner and overnight in Zurich.
Schaffhausen for the Rhine Falls, the largest waterfall in Europe (around 150 m wide, 23 m high). Cross into Germany for Titisee in the Black Forest and the cuckoo clock village. After lunch, the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart (subject to availability). Continue to Frankfurt.
Dinner and overnight in Frankfurt.
Frankfurt on the Main: Römerberg Square, the skyline, the churches and the riverfront streets. After lunch, Cologne Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage site and Germany's best-known Gothic building. Continue to the Netherlands.
Dinner and overnight in Amsterdam.
A canal cruise through Amsterdam. After lunch, Zaanse Schans in Zaandam and the Catharina Hoeve cheese farm, with free time. Then Madurodam in the Scheveningen district of the Hague, Holland at 1:25 scale.
Dinner and overnight in the Netherlands.
Into Belgium for the Atomium, from Expo 58 — 102 metres, nine 18-metre spheres. Then the Grand Place and the nearby Manneken Pis. After lunch, drive to Paris.
Dinner and overnight in Paris.
Straight to the Eiffel Tower and up to the third level (subject to availability); the tower rises more than 1,000 feet in the Champ de Mars, built by Gustave Eiffel for the 1889 World Expo. After lunch, a city tour with a local expert. The evening closes with a cruise on the Seine.
Dinner and overnight in Paris.
The Louvre, behind its glass pyramid: the Mona Lisa, Michelangelo's Dying Slave and the Venus de Milo. After lunch, travel to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport for the flight home via Muscat.
You arrive in Kochi. The tour ends here.
