Cordelia Cruise From Kochi to the Maldives and Sri Lanka

Board at Kochi's Sagarika Cruise Terminal, sleep five nights in the same cabin, and wake once to the Maldives and once to Colombo, with two full sea days in between. Every meal, the pool, the shows, and the kids' academy sit inside the fare, and no flight is needed to begin.

Why Cordelia from Kochi

No Airport, No Suitcase Shuffle, One Ship.

No Airport, No Suitcase Shuffle, One Ship.

Most holidays start with a flight and a wait. This one starts at Kochi's Sagarika Cruise Terminal, where you check in, board, and sit down to lunch as the ship prepares to sail. For five nights the cabin is yours and nothing gets packed again. Two days pass wholly at sea, with the pool, the fitness centre, the lounges, the evening shows, and the Cordelia Academy keeping children busy. In between, the ship lies off the Maldives, where a tender takes you ashore, and later ties up at Colombo Port. Every meal at the Food Court and the Starlight restaurant is in the fare, so is entry to the casino, and so is insurance. What you do on shore is your own plan and your own cost. Cabins come in two kinds, Interior Standard and Ocean View.

What the Fare Already Covers
The Empress

What the Fare Already Covers

The ship on this route is Cordelia's Empress, and on a six day sailing with two full sea days she is as much the holiday as the ports are. The fare covers the swimming pool, the fitness centre, every public venue and lounge unless one is booked for a private event, the entertainment shows, entry to the casino, the Cordelia Academy for kids, a DJ and pool party, the Balle Ballet show, and India through movies. Meals run at the Food Court and the Starlight restaurant, where Jain food is available. Some things sit outside the fare by design: the specialty restaurants, alcohol and beverages, the spa and salon, Wi-Fi packages, the rock climbing wall, ship and bridge tours, and casino coupons. Knowing that on day one keeps the bill on day six small.

The Maldives by Tender, Colombo by Pier.
Shore days, your way

The Maldives by Tender, Colombo by Pier.

Two mornings put land under your feet. On day three the ship lies off the Maldives and a tender carries passengers ashore; the day is yours to arrange and pay for. On day five the ship docks at Colombo Port, so you walk straight down to the pier and into the city, again on your own plan. At both ports the rule is the same: be back on board two hours before sailing. Shore visits depend on the weather, and the Captain can alter or cancel a call, so treat the ports as the bonus and the ship as the certainty. Passports are checked at every port, so keep yours to hand.

Know This Before You Sail.
The small print, in plain words

Know This Before You Sail.

Carry an original passport valid six months past your return, with four blank pages; visa fees are not in the fare, and the desk tells you what each port asks for. Shore excursions at the Maldives and Colombo are at your own cost, and so are alcohol, specialty dining, Wi-Fi, the spa, and the climbing wall. No Fortune tour manager sails with the group. Outside food and liquor are not allowed on board. Every cabin needs one adult over 18, infants sail from six months, and no one past the 24th week of pregnancy is accepted. Cabin partners cannot cancel separately, a date change counts as a cancellation, and cancellation charges begin 95 days before sailing. Tax collected at source applies over the fare, and insurance covers Indian residents.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. The ship calls at the Maldives and Sri Lanka, so every passenger carries an original passport valid six months beyond the return date, with four blank pages. Visa fees are not in the fare; the desk tells you what each port asks for at booking, and you arrange it.

The ship's call at each port is included; what you do ashore is not. At the Maldives you go in by tender, at Colombo the ship docks at the pier, and shore excursions at both are at your own cost. Be back on board two hours before the ship sails.

Your cabin, every meal at the Food Court and the Starlight restaurant, the pool, the fitness centre, the public venues and lounges, the entertainment shows, entry to the casino, the Cordelia Academy for kids, the DJ and pool party, Balle Balle, India through movies, Jain food at Starlight, and insurance.

No. This sailing runs without a Fortune tour manager, and the fare does not include one. The ship's own crew and reception desk handle life on board, and the Fortune desk back in Kochi handles everything before you sail: the booking, the cabin, the documents, and any question you have.

Each cabin needs at least one passenger aged 18 or over. Infants sail from six months to under two years. Cordelia does not accept anyone who has entered the 24th week of pregnancy by or during the cruise. Everyone should be medically fit, and outside food and liquor stay ashore.

Two cabin types are sold on this sailing, Interior Standard and Ocean View, and the desk holds whichever you choose. The sailing date is fixed by Cordelia, and a date change counts as a cancellation, so pick with care. Other Cordelia sailings from Kochi can always be quoted on request.
